Carpenter Work in New Constructed Home
Carpenters make parts of buildings, such as staircases, door frames, and rafters. Their work may also include installing kitchen cabinets, countertops, molding, and trim. Carpenters use many hand tools such as saws, hammers, pliers, planes to smooth wood, and levels to tell if lines are straight.
Colonial interiors are characterized by grand entrance halls, polished wood floors, simplified paint and wallpaper palettes, and light approach to millwork and wainscoting. Photo: Jonathan Wallen. The grand entrance hall is a Colonial Revival standard.
Fixing Existing Wood Work
You can remove surface dirt and old layers of wax polish with a home-made mix of four parts white spirit to one part of linseed oil. If the finish is still looking a bit lifeless, pour some proprietary wood reviver onto a cotton cloth and buff vigorously.
